Designed by Hans Christian Andersen
As silhouette cutter Hans Christian Andersen is the life of the party, and the celebrated guest of the gentry and the intellectuals of his days.
Hans Christian Andersen always brought his 24 cm long pair of scissors, and he amused himself and others by deftly cutting silhouettes.
This paper cut-out was launched in February 1869 in a image book to the grandson of H.C. Ørsted – who was also named Hans Christian – with the text: ”Little Hans Christian gives in for his imagination”.
